Music Streaming? No thanks

Today i still preserve the idea of an ‘album’ as a collection of songs, as a cohesive ‘whole’. Even if it’s a collection of mp3 files rather than anything physical ( i really want to collect vinyls, but lord knows how expensive they are ). At least they come bundled together with a track listing, artworks, a sense that this is ‘something’. Streaming services, in comparison, remove even these fine threads from making music something you might want to own. The songs become just more digital froth spilling out of your computer/smartphone/tablet, along with other social media’s notification pings.

The sadness will last forever.

Judge people neither by their diligence or intelligence; judge them by their taste and sensibility towards poetry, art and the woeful state of the world in which we live in.
